Cardiac Care

Heart-healthy prevention, treatment and rehabilitation at Blount Memorial Hospital
At Blount Memorial Hospital, cardiac care begins with prevention. Our heart-healthy programs help East Tennesseans prevent problems, such as a heart attack, angina and the need for an angioplasty. In addition, practicing heart-healthy habits can help our program participants reduce the need for coronary artery bypass or another heart-related surgery. If and when a cardiac incident does occur, Blount Memorial's cardiac care program offers everything and everyone you need to achieve the best-possible outcomes including:
• experienced interventional cardiologists available around-the-clock to perform life-saving coronary intervention procedures
• the LIFEPACK defibrillator/monitor partnership with Rural/Metro Ambulance providing electrocardiograms before arrival at the emergency department
• a STEMI (ST Segment Elevation Myocardial Infarction) team monitoring heart attack processes and outcomes to ensure that patients receive the immediate care they need
• a state-of-the-art cardiac catheterization laboratory featuring all-digital equipment
